They are few and far between in this day and age. You know, people who speak to you. People who make sense. The type of people who will say things and utilise a language that can be understood by everyone. How many people can captivate an audience that captures Millennials and Baby Boomers, male and female, white and blue collar? Simon Sinek is one of them.
Mr. Sinek (yes, I use Mr. as he well deserves it) is a British-American author and inspirational speaker. Born in 1973 (sure doesn’t like like it, does it?), Simon spoke on a very sensitive, but necessary and timely topic. In an episode of Inside Quest with Tom Bilyeu, he spoke about the Millennials but wait: you’ll be surprised not only to hear that he’s not pointing the finger at them, but he’s coming up with some concrete solutions. Take the 15 minutes folks. Trust me, it’s well worth it.
Can you imagine if, as individuals, as parents, as teachers or corporate owners or managers, we could implement or correct some of our behaviour as he suggests… the difference it would make in our immediate surrounding? This is not just for Millennials, folks. I’m well in my 50’s and I saw myself in some of what he described. I think we all can. One by one, why don’t we try to make a small effort and see how far it will go?
