We will try something something new today, on this St-Jean Baptiste day, which is also the NHL Draft day. As there is so much buzz around the Canadiens, I will try to keep you informed on some quick hits throughout the day, but keeping a close eye on hockey’s most reputable insiders and what they have to say, or what they hear about our beloved Canadiens. First, let have a quick recap of some late tweets from yesterday…
COL had previously had talks with MTL about P.K. Subban but Avs do not consider themselves in that picture now.

The Avalanche are trying to improve on their defense. We know that the relationship between Matt Duchene and Patrick Roy isn’t great, and that the team and young defenseman Tyson Barrie are struggling to find common grounds on a new contract.
The Montreal Canadiens among the most interested in Ducks D-man, Cam Fowler. Obviously fuels the Subban speculation.

This is rather new and a bit out of left field. If Marc Bergevin can swing a deal for P.K. Subban, getting Cam Fowler would definitely go a long way in replacing the minutes from the fan-favourite Subban. The Buffalo Sabres are also believed to be making a strong push for Fowler.
Hearing #Canadiens Bergevin price remains too high in his bid to trade Subban. Moving up @2016NHLDraft for crack at Dubois remains priority

Listening to Bergevin yesterday, everyone agreed that he seems to have Pierre-Luc Dubois quite high on his list. The Oilers have the #4 pick and the Canucks pick at #5 (so far). The price on Subban is high? That’s how it should be. Remember that the Habs don’t have to trade him. You want him? Pay up!
